Entries #269 through #274

#269 - Bay Area Legacy Riders
1st Place:
Local Western (Senior)
The Bay area Legacy Riders emerged onto the Northern California Horse Club scene on July 27, 2013.
The group is dedicated to promoting the spirit of African American and minority Western Pioneers through education, horsemanship, and community activities that involve the youth and adults. They strive to keep alive the history of the old west and the contributions that people of color made.
They do this by sharing the knowledge of the wonderful world of horses and the equine. They organize and provide educational, social, and equestrian activities for the community, and at city, state, and national events.

#271 - American Cancer Society, Relay for Life-Livermore
Celebrating its 30th Anniversary, here comes, “Relay For Life,” the American Cancer Society’s signature event where participants walk for 24 hours to support cancer patients and find a cure. The walk is for 24 hours because cancer never sleeps and neither will we, until it is defeated.
Come out to Livermore High School on June 27th beginning at 9:00am and enjoy food, entertainment and more. Plan to stay the day and enjoy the beautiful Luminaira Ceremony honoring cancer survivors and those we have lost to cancer.

Sponsoring Relay for Life's float is Peninsula Building Materials. Stop by to see their quality natural stone, brick, pavers and landscape materials at their Livermore yard located off of Vasco Road.

#272 - eLivermore.com
eLivermore.com provides information about Livermore and the Tri-Valley including a community calendar, Things to Do, and links to local organizations and businesses.
It also contains thousands of local photos including those of the Little League Intermediate World Series, held here in Livermore.
A Livermore History section includes hundreds of historical photos. If you want information about Livermore, visit eLivermore.com.
Our official parade photographer and webmaster of eLivermore.com, Bill Nale, tells us that Rodeo Parade photos will be posted later today and will include at least one photo of each entry.

#273 - Junction Ave. K-8 Color Guard and Band
The Junction Ave K-8 School Band and Color Guard are happy to be marching in the Rodeo Parade this year. The band also wants to thank their mentors from the Granada High School Band for all their help and for marching with them today. The Color Guard had a very successful Winter Guard season with two 1st places, a 2nd place and a 3rd place. Way to go team!

#274 - Mark Alexander riding Blazer
1st Place:
Parade Horse (Open)
Say hello to Blazer, a fifteen year old Andalusian stallion. He has classic Andalusian conformation with a short back, long mane and long tail. His temperament is also typical of the breed. He can be gentle enough to be handled by a child. Or, as you see here, he can proudly show off and perform with strength and agility. He loves people and really loves lots of applause, so give it up for Blazer.
