#217 - Celebrating 100 years of Family Home Evenings

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is proud to present, "Celebrating 100 Years of Family Home Evening".
This float was created by volunteers from the 4th Ward congregation to represent spending time together in Family Home Evening. Spending regularly scheduled time once a week with your family sends a message more powerful than words. Any family can do it. #218 - Assemblywoman Catharine Baker
Please welcome Assemblywoman Catharine Baker. She represents the 16th District in the California State Assembly which includes Livermore, and the greater Tri-Valley.
A long-time resident of the area, the assemblywoman is a mother of school-aged twins, and serves as vice-chair of the Higher Education Committee and member of the Transportation Committee. She is working tirelessly to advocate for our students and schools, and the transportation needs of our Tri-Valley region, and to promote economic development in California.

 

#219 - Livermore-Pleasanton Emblem Club #413
The Livermore-Pleasanton Emblem Club #413 is a non-profit, charitable organization that assists our Elks club members along with helping our veterans at the Livermore Veterans Hospital. They donate to the Livermore school's nurse’s welfare fund and to our seniors in need. On a state and national level, they award scholarships to students who are studying to become teachers of the deaf and to the San Francisco Hearing Dog Program.


 

 
 

#220 - Livermore Cultural Arts Council
Each Tuesday night this summer, the Livermore Cultural Arts Council and the Livermore Valley Performing Arts Center are presenting a free family-friendly concert series; called "Evenings on the Green," in front of the Bankhead Theater. The concerts started last Tuesday night at 6:45 and run through August 25.
Whether it's; rock, jazz, show tunes or blues, you're invited to come and enjoy a beautiful summer evening listening to music in downtown Livermore. There are also children's activities on many of the nights. Again, Tuesdays beginning at 6:45 p.m.

 

#221 - Tri-Valley Cares
3rd Place:
Novelty Unit (Senior)
For 32 years Tri-Valley CAREs, non-profit organization has promoted peace, justice and a healthy environment. The group monitors nuclear activities at Livermore Lab. Their parade entry highlights the risks of toxic and radioactive contamination. Tri-Valley CAREs advocates for cleanup of pollution at Livermore Lab, and works to prevent future accidents from occurring. Tri-Valley CAREs encourages the community to get involved in decisions about hazardous waste management and environmental cleanup at the Lab. Tri-Valley CAREs believes that together, we can all make Livermore safer. The group offers many ways to get involved. Check them out at www.trivalleycares.org .


 

 
 

#222 - Salinas Rodeo SUV with Queen
Here comes Miss California Rodeo Salinas Jynel Gularte, inviting you to the 105th California Ro-day-o July 16th through the 19th. It's the largest rodeo in California and one of the top 15 pro-rodeos in the United States! It features trick riding, motorcycle jumpers, mutton busting, and freestyle bullfights on the track. You can also shop, eat, listen to live music and more while you enjoy a day at the California Ro-day-o Salinas. Tickets start at $7 for kids and $14 for adults. Visit www.carodeo.com for more information. She'll be looking for you in Salinas in July for the “Battle for the Buckle”!

 

#223 - Granada HS Cheer Team
1st Place:
Majorette Corp/Drill Teams (Junior)
Welcome the Granada High School Cheerleaders. Granada is pleased to announce that this year they will be having three squads of dedicated, and committed young cheerleaders who not only plan on raising school spirit, but also helping the Livermore community with philanthropic activities.
Leading the Granada High School Cheerleaders this year will be Head Coach Brooke Curtis, with Assistant Coaches Jacob Felicitas and Lizzy Martinez.

#224 - Granada HS Matador Marching Band
The Granada HS Band has had an exciting year: They won top honors at NCBA contests last Fall, marched down Main Street USA at Disneyland a couple of weeks ago, participated in the Opening Ceremony of the Tri Valley Special Olympics, and supported our community at performances including “Shop With A Cop,” “A Livermore Trombone Christmas,” “The Livermore Downtown Sights and Sounds Holiday Parade,” and, of course, this weekend’s Rodeo festivities.
They thank all the volunteers that make today happen… and thanks to all the Rotarians who make the Livermore Rodeo Parade a very special event!
