Edith Galt Wilson was the second wife of Woodrow Wilson, and some considered her as the first woman President. In his second term, Wilson suffered a stroke which paralyzed his left side. Despite pressure to the contrary, Edith insisted he didn’t resign, fearing he’d lose his greatest incentive for recovery-- his dream of a League of Nations. WWI had just ended and Edith was in charge. Actress Gay Storm portrays Wilson.

A portion of the event proceeds will go to support the Richard Myles Johnson Foundation to provide financial education resources for credit unions in California and Nevada.

Funding financial education programs is a positive public advocacy tool and helps credit unions fulfill their mission of serving their community. The Foundation is able to fund these vital programs because of the generous donations from credit unions and credit union organizations.

San Francisco Comedy Competition
Fox Family Productions is bringing the finals of its illustrious San Francisco Stand-up Comedy Competition to Livermore! Past champion Jackie Flynn, currently starring on the TV series “Loudermilk,” will host. Before bringing on the contestants, Jackie will rapid-fire his unique Boston-style material to warm up the crowd. At evening’s end, he’ll keep the laughter going while the judges’ scores are being calculated backstage.

Five finalists, having risen to the top of this year’s field during four weeks of elimination shows throughout Northern California, will each perform for 15 minutes. They’ll hope to hear their name announced as the winner of the lion’s share of $20,000+ in prize money. Not to mention the glory that goes with joining Comedy Competition alumni like Dana Carvey, Ellen DeGeneres, Kevin Pollak, Sinbad, the late Robin Williams, and even Louis CK.

The third Thursday of each month is Thirsty Thursday!
There will be wine tasting from local Wineries.
Local Bands will be playing, and arts and crafts will be on display.

Third Sunday Duarte Garage Open
Built in 1915, along the newly dedicated Lincoln Highway, the garage served as a gas station, service station, and a car dealership (in the south portion, added in 1923).
The garage was restored by the Livermore Heritage Guild, and provides a number of historical displays.
The restored LHG fire trucks (as seen in the Rodeo Parade each year) are housed there.
A number of events are hosted there each year including the LHG Annual General Meeting.

Last Sunday Hagemann Ranch Open
Today’s Hagemann Ranch is the last 4.5 acres of continuously operated ranch land from the original rancho el Valle de San José, a Mexican land grant applied for in 1835 by the children of José Joaquin Bernal. The original Rancho consisted of 48,000 acres encompassing much of present day Sunol, Pleasanton and the northwest section of Livermore.
A variety of equipment and vehicles are on display in the historic buildings.
