Evening with Edith Galt Wilson Edith Galt Wilson was the second wife of Woodrow Wilson, and some considered her as the first woman President. In his second term, Wilson suffered a stroke which paralyzed his left side. Despite pressure to the contrary, Edith insisted he didn’t resign, fearing he’d lose his greatest incentive for recovery-- his dream of a League of Nations. WWI had just ended and Edith was in charge. Actress Gay Storm portrays Wilson. Third Sunday | Duarte Garage Open Built in 1915, along the newly dedicated Lincoln Highway, the garage served as a gas station, service station, and a car dealership (in the south portion, added in 1923). The garage was restored by the Livermore Heritage Guild, and provides a number of historical displays. The restored LHG fire trucks (as seen in the Rodeo Parade each year) are housed there. Last Sunday | Hagemann Ranch Open Today’s Hagemann Ranch is the last 4.5 acres of continuously operated ranch land from the original rancho el Valle de San José, a Mexican land grant applied for in 1835 by the children of José Joaquin Bernal. The original Rancho consisted of 48,000 acres encompassing much of present day Sunol, Pleasanton and the northwest section of Livermore.
