On Dec. 5, 2022, more than 60 years of research and development came together when fusion ignition was achieved for the first time in history at our very own Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. This breakthrough opens new realms of scientific exploration, helping to ensure U.S. national security and laying the groundwork for inertial fusion energy. Today we’re joined by representatives of the team who reached this historic milestone, including Livermore resident Kim Budil, director of LLNL. |
