The rodeo parade is on Saturday morning of "Rodeo Weekend", which is the second weekend of June.  It is held on 2nd Street.  These pictures are from June 11, 2011.

#227 - 1948 Farmall Cub Tractor
 

 
This tractor is a 1948 International Farmall Cub. It is the smallest of the Farmall line with ten horsepower and has all the farm implements of the larger Farmall tractors. 47,000 of these tractors were sold for $500 each in 1948. Livermore resident Larry Kuntz is the owner and driver. Larry is also a Navy veteran who served from 1959 to 1963 aboard the aircraft carrier USS Ranger, based in Alameda.
 

#228 - G And M Farms Cow Train

Our next entry is a crowd favorite, the "Cow Train" from G & M Farms. The Cow Train is a ride for children and adults at their annual Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze right here in Livermore. The unit is towed by an Airport "tug" and resembles a herd of Holstein cows.

Lets give a big welcome to our very own members of the Livermore Area Recreation and Park District Board of Directors. LARPD is your Livermore area park and recreation District. They operate many parks and services in our community and invite you to take part in the fun summer activities they have planned for you. Thanks for all your hard work on our behalf.

 


#230 - Christensen Middle School Cougar Marching Band, Featuring The Junction Avenue Color Guard

Let's give a big welcome to the Christensen Middle School Cougar Marching Band, featuring the Junction Avenue K-8 Colorguard. Under the direction of Mike Divita, this is their 13th year in our parade. Located in Springtown, the Christensen Cougar Marching Band has 45 students marching today and are joined by the Junction Avenue colorguard under direction of Ginny George. The combined group is under the leadership of Drum Major Noah White and will perform "American Heritage March" by John Edmondson.
 


 

 

 

 

#231 - 1930 Model A Ford

This 1930 Model A Ford belonging to Lynn and Linda owens, is a rare body type for 1930. It is a "Murray Body Fordor, Blind Back Model A". The Blindback model is rare, usually there is a window in the small rear section of the vehicle. This car has been to the top of Pike's Peak in Colorado.
 

 

#232 - Cub Scout Pack 914

Here comes the Mighty 9-1-4 ! Cub Scout Pack 914 of Livermore has been going strong for over 35 years. Chartered by the Elk's Lodge of Livermore-Pleasanton, pack 914 meets at Rancho Las Positas Elementary School. Currently, 40 young and energetic boys are on their way to becoming tomorrows leaders.
 


 

#233 - Napa Pepperettes (Senior Group)

Our next group is the Napa Pepperettes Senior Majorette Corps. They are celebrating the 60th anniversary of their baton corp. This senior corps won 1st. Place in this years San Francisco St. Patricks Day Parade. Congratualtions are in order!

And now, the Napa Pepperettes Junior Corps. They range in age from 7-13 years. Not to be outdone by their senior group, this Corps also took 1st. Place in the 2011 San Francisco St. Patrick's Day Parade. Way to go!

#235 - Community Service Award Recipient, Mr. Charles Crohare
 

 
Let's welcome one of our Parade Dignitaries, Mr. Charles Crohare, Community Service Award recipient for 2011. Mr. Crohare is the fourth generation involved in local farming with his family and is the Vice President of the Tri-Valley Bank. He is the Treasurer of the Rotary Club of Livermore Valley, President of Hope Hospice and a Board Member at the California Olive Oil Council. If that doesn't keep Mr. Crohare busy enough, he is also involved in the Tri-Valley Convention & Vistors Bureau and the Livermore Valley Wine Growers Association. Congratulations and a big thanks for all you do for the community, Charles!

 


#236 - Livermore Oddfellows Lodge #219

Please welcome our next group, members of the Livermore Oddfellows Lodge #219. Their Lodge is one of the oldest lodges in Livermore. The lodge stands for "Friendship, Love and Truth". Their objective is to improve and elevate the Character of Man by emcompassing the whole family.
 


#237 - Alameda County Fire Truck/ Scott Haggerty, County Supervisor
 

 
And now, here we have Alameda County Supervisor Scott Haggerty. Supervisor Haggerty represents District 1, which emcompasses Livermore, Pleasanton, Frement, parts of Dublin and Sunol as well as unincorporated East County. Scott is currently serving his fourth term. Scott was a Livermore Stockman Rodeo Association Team Penning Champion for 2000 and 2002. Scott and his family and staff would like to wish you a fun and safe weekend at all of this years events.
