The Capitol Steps
Returning for their 12th annual evening of side-splitting political satire, the members of Capitol Steps combine experience on the Hill with musical, acting, improv and sheer comedic talent in an equal-opportunity skewering of modern day politics. The only group in America that attempts to be funnier than Congress, they never fail to find humor in the latest headlines, scandals and videos. Given today’s gridlock, a Capitol Steps show may be the only thing capable of winning bipartisan support!

The Exquisite JS Bach The Brandenburg Concertos - Pacific Chamber Orchestra
It has been said that Bach’s Brandenburg Concertos display the buoyant side of his ‘imperishable genius’ because they were written during one of the happiest and most productive periods of his life. We willingly follow the arc created by musicians delighting in their task as they chase their way through allegros, adiagos and andantes. We say these six concertos are exquisite because Bach stretched the definition of concerto forevermore by inventing the now familiar modern keyboard concerto. This require virtuoso musicians willing to push through the edges of their instruments – and feel exhilarated doing it. We love listening to them. No matter how many times you’ve heard these pieces, you feel you’ve heard something different each time you encounter them.

Jarabe Mexicano feat. Ballet Folklorico de Los Angeles
The eclectic style, stirring vocals and lively instrumentation of Jarabe Mexicano comes together with national premier Mexican folk dance company, Ballet Folkloric de Los Angeles in a joyous and colorful celebration of musical traditions from both sides of the border. The two Southern California-based groups take audiences on a joyride through a mix of authentic Mexican folk, Latin rock, and Tex Mex songs. Their “Remember Me” from Disney’s “Coco” creates a memorable bridge between their immense talents.

Jarabe Mexicano hit the Latin music scene less than five years ago, performing on traditional Mariachi instruments accompanied by lively percussion. Their eclectic border spirit is enhanced by their harmonized vocals in Spanish and English and they are fast earning a reputation for bringing fresh style into the musical traditions they perform.

Ballet Folklórico de Los Ángeles, founded in 2011 by Kareli Montoya, has performed across Southern California and worked with artists and groups such as Lila Downs, Pepe Aguilar, Mariachi Divas and Mariachi Los Camperos. BFLA worked with Disney Studios on a performance to celebrate Pixar’s movie “Coco” and were invited to perform the award-winning song, “Remember Me,” at the 90th Annual Academy Awards.

Guys and Dolls
While indefinitely postponing a wedding with his long-suffering fiancé Adelaide, gambler Nathan Detroit (Frank Sinatra) finds he’s short the $1,000 he needs to secure a new place for his floating craps game. He makes a wager with gentleman-around-town Sky Masterson (Marlon Brando) that Sky’s smooth way with women will fail when it comes to taking the virtuous Sarah Brown (Jean Simmons) of the Save a Soul Mission out on a date. When Sky slyly offers to bring a group of his friends to her mission, in exchange for a dinner date in Havana, the two are surprised to discover they might actually have a future together. The Frank Loesser score includes “Luck Be a Lady,” which later became a signature song for Sinatra and has been ranked among the Top 100 greatest film songs.

Everybody knows the T-Rex and the other dinosaurs we normally hear about and see on exhibition in natural history museums. But where do they come from? How do these giant creatures of the past end up on display?

The documentary event film “Dinosaurs” traces the path of these fascinating pre-historic creatures from digging sites in the wide-open plains of Wyoming and South Dakota, where the bones are first unearthed, to the labs where the bones are reassembled by some of the world’s most renowned experts. This is a thrilling journey that takes viewers to the world’s most exclusive galleries and auction houses, where wealthy collectors and prestigious scientific institutes go to great lengths to acquire the world’s rarest specimens
