First year of the new cut-off date (August 31 from April 30) for league
age. No player would be over the age of 13 during the World Series
starting with 2018. 15 run rule added. New bat standards. USABats only allowed. (Note only one home run in 2018) |
Extra Inning rule (putting a player on 2nd base at the start of each half
inning staring in the 9th inning) first in place. No games went to
the 9th inning in 2019. If a team starts the game with 11 or fewer players, only 2 total coaches (including the Manager) are allowed on the field (new to 2019). BBCOR bats allowed starting in 2019. |
On deck batters must be on the same side as their dugouts (rule added
in 2020) Video Reviews added. Each team may challenge calls until they have two unsuccessful challenges in a game. One unsuccessful challenge in extra innings. |
Continuous batting order will now be used. No Special Pinch Runners Rule allowing only 2 coaches for teams with 11 or fewer players has been eliminated. Intentional Walks can now be done without pitches being thrown, but only once per batter in a game. |
