Art Under the Oaks Held in conjunction with The Livermore Art Association, over 50 artists will be demonstrating and displaying their work. Local wineries will be pouring tastes of area vintages. The ever popular fruit tasting will also be held, taste all the new varieties and then order the fruit tree of your dreams. Music fills the oak covered grounds, as the local favorites Stony Ridge Ramblers play Dixieland jazz, and Pleasanton Community Concert fills the air with big band numbers! Lecture - The Military in Pleasanton The Museum On Main Street Ed Kinney Lecture Series presents “Those Who Wait Also Serve,” at 7 p.m., Thursday, July 21, at the Museum On Main Street, 603 Main Street, Pleasanton. Local resident Chris Miller will moderate the panel discussion where panel members will share their personal war-time experiences. Discussion will focus on how both families and military members cope with the difficulties of deployment to a combat arena. Panel members include Tracy Buescher, Operation Iraqi Freedom; Alice Johnston, Gulf War; Doug Miller, Vietnam War; Bill Cassell, Korean War; and Fern Harris, World War II. Reservations are suggested. Wine Stroll Downtown businesses host wine tasting from over 20 local wineries at about 30 locations. Many also offer food and discounts. Tickets and wine glass purchased under the arch in front of the museum. This event provides wine tasting and an opportunity to visit the variety of shops in downtown Pleasanton.
