The Flagpole is a familiar landmark in Livermore since it is so visible when traveling on First Street.  It is often referenced when giving directions in the downtown area.  The plaque below is located at the base of the flagpole.  See additional Flagpole pictures in the Historical Photos Section.  The wooden flagpole, shown on this page was removed on October 7, 2004 (photos), and was replaced by a fiberglass pole on June 17, 2005 (photos).
