Earl "Chuck" Kohler, stationed at Ford Island
 

 

John Tait, USS St. Louis.
Very minimal damage.  Went out of the harbor at 28 knots in an 8 knot channel.
The ship was nicknamed "Lucky Lou" name after two torpedoes fired it it hit a reef
while it exited the harbor.
 

 

Hank Fries - U.S.S. Detroit
Stationed at a gun just forward of the bridge, a deck lower.
The U.S.S. Detroit left the harbor at 27 knots.

 

 

On the USS San Francisco.
