Mayor - The mayor serves a 2 year term, elected on odd numbered years.  Term limit: 8 years (see below)

  Doug Horner - Serving out Tom Reitter's term (who was Elected in 2001.  Re-elected 11/8/05).  The city council, after interviewing a number of candidates, selected Doug Horner to serve out the term.

Term Limits:  In Nov 2003 election, term limits were added as follows:
  Mayor:  Terms of 8 consecutive years (4 terms).  May re-run after 2 year break.
  City council:  Terms of 8 consecutive years (2 terms).  May re-run after 2 year break.
  City council / Mayor combination:  Terms of 16 consecutive years of service in the combination of positions.  May re-run after 2 year break.
  Serving a portion of a term is considered the full term if served for one half of the term plus one day.
  Terms served before the Nov 2003 enactment are not counted.
   
  Livermore Area Recreation & Park District (LARPD)
  The LARPD Board of Directors has 5 members, elected to 4 year terms.  Elections occur on even numbered years at the fall general election, with 3 elected on midterm years and 2 elected on presidential election years.

City Council  -   Web Page.  4 members, elected at large for 4 year overlapping terms.  Council Email (there does not appear to be individual email addresses anymore.  Term Limit:  2003 council minutes indicate no limits, but it was being discussed.  An advisory vote took place in 2004 to change the election to even numbered years.  It passed, but was advisory only.  Note: It appears as though elections will be on even numbered years, as there was no 2007 city council election.
