2013 is the Centennial year of the Lincoln Highway, America's first coast-to-coast transcontinental road. In June, Automobiles started in San Francisco and New York, meeting in Kearney, Nebraska to celebrate the Lincoln Highway. The trip across the country will travel on the original old alignments of the Lincoln Highway. The Lincoln Highway Association, leading the west coast caravan eastward, made a stop at the Duarte Garage in Livermore The Duarte Garage on Pine St. was established as a way station on the Lincoln Highway in 1915.
These photos were taken on June 23, 2013, as the eastward caravan stopped in Livermore.
