Makeup Games
We have makeup Games on Sunday 10/21 at 1:00 and Sunday 10/28 at 10:30am.  See the schedule below for details.

Photo Day

Photo Day is Sunday, September 16. We are scheduled for 9:00am. Please arrive 15 minutes prior (8:45am).

The location is again Robertson Park, which is where the rodeo grounds are. It will be in the soccer field area. Parking laws will be enforced, so park only in designated areas. There will be a lot of people there, and a lot of kids running around, so please be cautious.

I have the forms, and will pass them out prior to the event.

The team banner can be in the photo, and should be brought for the shoot.

Friday Drop-ins
The league provides Friday Drop-ins at no charge. The focus is skill improvements
These are at Robertson Park - Turf Field from 5:15 to 6:45. They will divide the kids up be age. A “Game of the week” will be played from 7:00 to 8:30pm after the drop-in.

Dates:
  Aug 3, 10, 17, 24 (no session on the 30th, which is Labor Day weekend)
  September 7, 14, 21, 28
  October 5, 12

The league is holding a Dinner Dance for October 13 from 6:30pm to 11:30pm as a fundraiser.
This is adults only. The cost is $35 per person. The theme is Hawaiian.
Location if the Shrine Event Center, 170 Linbergh Ave.

Operation Soccer Chopper.

A deployed Army helicopter pilot in Afghanistan is dropping soccer balls to children after flying his daily missions. They are asking for donations of used soccer balls (ones that you kids have outgrown, etc) and/or cash for shipping. The league goal is 100 balls and $300 (it costs $3 each to ship).

They would prefer that the balls be deflated for shipping, but inflated is OK (someone will deflate).
Balls should be in good condition, and hold air.
No political or religious references should be written on the balls.
If the ball has you child’s first name is written it, that is OK, but don’t donate a ball with the last name written (for security reasons)
Size 4 or 5 are preferred. They will take size 3 also.

Goals must be staked down. A stake is attached to the frame via a chain.
Goals must be set up by the parents for the first game of the day and taken down after the last game of the day.
Kids must NOT help set up and take down the goals. Adults only.
Games cannot be played or practices held when the fields are closed due to weather. This avoids the fields being torn up. Call the LARPD Turf Line at 925-373-5702 if unsure.

The uniform is the same as last year.
If you need a uniform, you can buy the uniform set on August 13 from 2pm to 7pm at Groth Brother’s Chevrolet (downtown). Check the web site for alternate ordering methods.

They are getting low on their uniform stock, as the uniform will change next year. Next year will be a transition year where the old and new uniform can be used (I don’t know quite how that will work, but that is what they said).

The uniform CANNOT be modified. No names, etc. The only modification permitted is to change the number of there are repeats on the team.
