#16  Livermore Rotary Club President, Don Wentz
Let’s welcome the President of The Rotary Club of Livermore for 2017, Don Wentz, riding in 1964 Ford Galaxy 500, restored and proudly driven by Rotarian Ed Coats.
Don is a 45 year resident of Livermore, a graduate of the University of California at Davis. He worked in the engineering and security fields for 48 years before retiring from the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.
Don has been a Rotarian for 13 years, donating countless hours of his time to international service and Rotary community service activities, including the construction of the new Rotary Bandstand in Carnegie Park.
Don is the proud father of two daughters and has two grandchildren. He and Shari have been married for 46 years.
We’re proud to have him as our president this year.
In the car with Don and Shari are their two grandchildren, Miles and Katie.

 

 

 

#17  Topcom 3D Mobile Mapping System
Livermore-based Topcon Positioning Systems is generating a high-density 3D map of the parade route with its mobile mapping system. This system integrates laser scanning, GNSS tracking, vehicle wheel encoding and imaging.
Topcon provides solutions for the surveying, agriculture, construction and mining industries by integrating high-precision measurement technology, software and data.
Driving Topcon's truck is Rob Oberlander, Sr. Director of Professional Services. Ron will be also speaking next Wednesday at our Rotary Meeting.

 

 

 

 

#18  Assemblywoman Catharine Baker
Please welcome Assemblywoman Catharine Baker. Assemblywoman Baker represents the 16th District in the California State Assembly, which includes Livermore. She is a small business counselor and the mother of twins. She fights for education opportunity, smarter infrastructure, and sound financial footing for our state with an emphasis on bipartisan solutions. She is honored to be here today and is thankful; to the Livermore Rotary Club for hosting the Rodeo Parade.

 

 

 

 

#19  Fremont Bank
And here is Fremont Bank!
Established in 1964 it is one of the oldest independent family-owned banks in the state. They focus on personalized service for their clients at 20 branches in Northern California.
Leading the way today is Senior Vice President, Mr. Kim Burdick, and Premier Banker and fellow Rotarian, Johnny Orenberg. Driving their vehicle is. Rolando Rodriguez, Marketing Manager for the Community Bank.

#20  Alameda County Fire Truck with Scott Haggerty, County Supervisor
Next up we have Alameda County Supervisor Scott Haggerty and his lovely wife, Rhonda.
Scott represents the District 1 cities of Livermore, Dublin, Fremont, and Unincorporated East County. Currently serving his 21st year in office, Supervisor Haggerty has remained a staunch advocate for the importance of 4H, the agriculture community, and land use planning issues.
And, he is a proud two-time Team Penning champ at the pre-rodeo activities.
He thanks you all for your continued support.

 

 

 

 

#21  Marty Plome with his 1938 Fort Pickup Truck
This 1938 Ford pickup truck has been owned by retired Livermore veterinarian Marty Plone for the past 34 years. It was restored 46 years ago by an early Ford V8 restorer for his own personal truck and he painted it in nitrocellulose lacquer. The truck was formerly owned by the late actor Steve McQueen from 1975 to 1979.

 

 

 

#22  Napa Pepperettes Senior Majorette Corps
The Napa Pepperettes are under the direction of Kellie Esser. This group has been representing the Napa Valley in parades and performances throughout California since 1951. Earlier this season this group placed top honors in parades in San Francisco and in Winters.

 

 

 

 

 

 

#23  Napa Pepperettes Junior Majorette Coprs
The Junior group of the Pepperettes also includes their "Rookie" group. This is the first year of competition for many of these marchers. The youngest member today is just 3 years old!
