#21 - Friends of the Bankhead and Bothwell |
 |
"Friends of the Bankhead and Bothwell" is a non-profit
corporation created to raise funds to save the Bankhead Theater and the Bothwell
Art Center. These facilities provide arts, entertainment, and educational
opportunities for the entire area throughout the year – and they're in danger of
being closed down! So our community is coming together to save the Bankhead, to
keep it open and thriving. If you'd like to help, you can get one of these
shirts or visit the website at www.savethebankhead.com. Here today marching in
support are members of the Livermore-Amador Symphony, Livermore Valley Opera,
Pacific Chamber Symphony, Del Valle Fine Arts, Rae Dorough Speaker Series,
Tri-Valley Repertory Theater, Valley Concert Chorale, and Valley Dance Theatre.

28 - Visiting Angels, Senior Home Care
|
Our next entry is Keith Beck, with the Visiting Angels Senior
Home Care, located here in Livermore. The driver of this restored 1966 Ford
step-side pick-up is Rick Whittington. This was Keith's father's farm truck and
was used to haul hay, hogs, and livestock on his dad's ranch in Texas. Keith
brought the pick-up to California in 2009 and has worked hard on restoring it.
Besides having a high performance V-8 engine with dual exhaust, Keith enjoys
retaining the original look of the truck. He now calls it the "Angel
Transporter" and drives it for special events like today's parade.
Note: The truck was unable to make it to the parade.
