#77 - Tri-Valley Cares
|

|
Tri-Valley CAREs wants green science at Livermore Labs, not nuclear weapons
development. Tri-Valley CAREs would like to highlight the fact that 88% of
Livermore Lab's current budget request goes to nuclear weapons activities. Only
3% goes to science and less than 1% is dedicated to non-polluting, renewable
energy. They advocate for a profound shift in Lab priorities. They want 88% of
the Lab's funding to go to green science and jobs for all instead of bombs.
Tri-Valley Cares supports funding for renewable energy and cleanup of toxic and
radioactive pollution at the Lab. Tri-Valley CAREs began locally nearly 30 years
ago and has grown to more than 5000 members. They've participated in the parade
nearly every year since 1983. You can find Tri-Valley CAREs office on Old First
Street or on the web at www.trivalleycares.org.
