Entries 36 to 42

#36 - David "Stilts" Volponi, Livermore Heritage Guild

Walking today with the Livermore Heritage Guild is David "Stilts" Volponi. David is a Livermore native whose family here goes back to the 1890's. He now resides in Groveland California. David started stilt walking as a 10 year old boy in 1972. That's 40 years of stilt-walking! He currently travels with the Cullpepper and Merriweather Circus where he has performed for the past 25 years. Today, David stands 10 feet tall while performing on 3½ foot stilts.

#37 - 1948 Farmall Cub Tractor

This tractor is a 1948 International Farmall Cub. It is the smallest of the Farmall line with ten horsepower, and has all the farm implements of the larger Farmall tractors. 47,000 of these tractors were sold for $500 each in 1948. Livermore resident Larry Kuntz is the owner and driver. Larry is also a Navy veteran who served from 1959 to 1963 aboard the aircraft carrier USS Ranger, based in Alameda.

#39 - Salinas Rodeo SUV with Queen - Kendra Brennan

Here comes Miss California Rodeo Salinas, Kendro Brennan. She is here to invite you to celebrate the 102nd year of tradition at the California Ro-Day-O in Salinas, July 19th - 22nd. This year's rodeo will feature the best pro-rodeo cowboys & cowgirls, along with trick riding and roman riding, clown Slim Garner and freestyle bullfighting. The large instant-replay screen brings all the action closer to your seat. There is something for everyone to enjoy at the 102nd California Ro-Day-O Salinas. It's gonna be a hot one! #40 - Granada High School Cheerleaders

This next group is the Granada High School Cheerleaders. The young ladies have an important role in helping to shape the atmosphere at Granada High. They are leaders in the school and in our community. The Granada High Cheer Team consists of both varsity and junior varsity level teams. A total of 30 athletes participate in cheerleading for Granada High. This year the Varsity team will be attending Cal Poly San Luis Obispo for summer camp. Aside from promoting spirit on campus the Granada High Cheer Team participates in a variety of community events such as: Relay for Life, Welcome Home events for military personnel, Holiday decorating at the Veterans Hospital, and Raising funds during the month of October for Breast Cancer Awareness. Last October the Cheer Team raised over $1500 for the Breast Cancer Foundation. They are honored to perform for you in today's parade.

#41 - Granada HS Matador Marching Band

Right behind the cheerleaders is the Granada High School Matador Marching Band. The band is under the direction of Thomas E. Jones. The drum major is Meghan Ramsey, and color guard captain is Patrick Patterson. The Granada High School Marching Band is proud to participate in the 2012 Rotary Rodeo Parade. This award-winning band has performed up and down the West Coast of the United States and Canada for over 25 years, but nothing compares to playing for the "home town crowd"! Today the band will perform the march “General Michell" by R.B. Hall. Enjoy their performance.
